BANK OF AMERICA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

The Center’s stellar headliners run the spectrum from the contemporary to the classic, in addition to touring Broadway musicals, popular entertainers, award-winning children’s programs, international ballet, folk and modern dance companies, classical symphonic performances, chamber music, choral ensembles, civic light opera, comedy, distinguished speakers, films, magic, jazz, big band orchestras, and live theatre and community programs. To further enhance the theatre experience, the Fred Kavli Theatre Lobby doubles as a fine art gallery for exhibitions by both local and internationally acclaimed artists.

The Bank of America Performing Arts Center consists of the 1,800-seat Fred Kavli Theatre for the Performing Arts and the 394-seat Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre, which combine outstanding arts and entertainment with state-of-the-art technology and acoustics. Over 300,000 patrons and 50,000 children attend more than 400 performances annually.

MALIBU PIER AND BEACH

Located just northwest of the Malibu pier, this scenic spot is also a bird sanctuary, protected wetlands and a great place to soak some rays. Hiking trails and picnicking areas, as well as an on-site lifeguard, bird watching, restrooms and showers render this a terrific beach for all ages. THE CANYON CLUB

The Canyon Club hosts some of Musics living legends in a small intimate setting with full dinner service. LEONIS ADOBE MUSEUM & CALABASAS CREEK PARK

During the 19th century, Calabasas developed a reputation of being a wild and lawless territory known for its one-day justice ruled by Miguel Leonis, the “King of Calabasas.” Open to the public, the Leonis Adobe Museum is the Leonis family’s preserved, scaled-down ranch and includes original buildings with livestock and artifacts for viewing.The Leonis Adobe Museum is located in Old Town Calabasas at 23537 Calabasas Road. Hours are Wednesday – Friday and Sunday, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

GETTY MUSEUM

Designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Richard Meier, the world-famous Getty Center (http://www.getty.edu/visit/center/) opened to the public Dec. 16, 1997. Nestled above Brentwood on a hilltop in the Santa Monica Mountains, the 24-acre campus houses the Getty Research Institute, the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Trust. SANTA MONICA PIER AND BEACH

Call it the anti-Disneyland: with just a handful of rides, Pacific Park is Santa Monica’s small, do-able amusement park, perched right on the ocean. And with no gates and no entry fee, it’s got a warm, fuzzy community feel. There’s a 9-story-tall ferris wheel and a roller coaster that seems to hang right over the ocean anchoring this seaside amusement park.
